DICK JEPSEN![]() Trained as a gunner in a heavy machine gun crew, he saw lots of action from St. Lo, all the way into Germany. From his position atop Hill 285, at Mortain, he watched helplessly as the attack on Hill 314 unfolded. In Holland, he witnessed the shelling of innocent civilians by the German Army during the evacuation of Kerkrade. He recalls the Battle of the Bulge and the horrific weather he and the other men had to endure.
