FRANK DEEGANFrank was only eighteen years old when he volunteered for duty. Although trained as a heavy machine gunner, he picked up a light machine gun and carried it all through the war.He was wounded at Mortain, but returned to his unit in Belgium. He was wounded again at Fouron le Compt where a monument now stands in memory of the 30th Division. After suffering severe wounds in the Bulge, he was finally sent home. |
