Shot exclusively in HD the film has been in the making for more than fours years. All interviews were recorded using green screen technique, with archival photos, footage, and animation to be added later.
The story is supported by more more than 65 hours of interviews with WWII veterans, adopt-a-grave families, mayors, historians and citizens across Europe - each who shares a story or connection to a soldier.
Filming to be completed in the Summer of 2010 as a select group of veterans returns to Europe on a final visit.
