FRANK DEEGAN
Frank was only eighteen years old when he volunteered for duty. Although trained as a heavy machine gunner, he picked up a light machine gun and carried it all through the war. He was wounded at Mortain, but returned to his unit in Belgium. He was wounded again at Fouron le Compt where a monument now stands in memory of the 30th Division. After suffering severe wounds in the Bulge, he was finally sent home. |
